Meet Danny Vasquez – an early educator at Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA) Child Development Center, in Annandale, Virginia. Following in his mother’s footsteps, Danny began working with young children soon after graduating from high school.
Today, Danny is teaching 4 year olds while pursuing his associate degree in early childhood education at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) thanks to a Project Pathfinders Scholarship. Danny believes the coursework at NOVA has helped him develop new ideas for his classroom and strengthened his skills as an early educator. He particularly enjoys his Child Behavior Management class where he is learning about how the brain develops in the early years.
Why is Danny committed to early education as a career? Danny says, “being an understanding, positive role model and providing quality developmentally appropriate practice for children is why I am committed to early childhood education.” He would like to continue teaching and hopes to work towards his bachelor’s degree in the near future.
